I have suffered with dandruff on and off. While I have tried many shampoos there is one I have stuck to for years – The Body Shop Ginger Anti Dandruff Shampoo. I love this shampoo and have recommended it to many. Read more to find out what I love about this shampoo.
The product claims to: “This refreshing shampoo with ginger extract is perfect for dry scalps.
- Cleansing
- Refreshing
Gently clears and helps prevent flakes with regular use, soothes scalp and conditions hair. With birch bark, white willow, oak moss and community trade honey and panthenol to condition and help soothe hair.”
My Experience with The Body Shop Ginger Anti Dandruff Shampoo
I first picked up this shampoo for my brother-in-law who was suffering from dandruff. Little did I know that this would be a shampoo I would fall in love it. He tried it and just after a few washes was raving about it.
I don’t get dandruff often and whenever I do I reach for this shampoo. It is amazing to use. It smells exactly like ginger candy, and if you love ginger candy you will definitely love the smell of this shampoo. You will see results from the very first use. Don’t expect all your dandruff to go away in one use, but you will notice the itchiness and flakiness reducing. With consistent use you will see good results. But one thing to keep in mind is that this shampoo is quite drying. This works well in removing oil but can dry your tresses. Ensure you use a conditioner every time after using this shampoo. For those of you who like lather in your hair care products I bet you will love The Body Shop Ginger Anti Dandruff Shampoo. The one cons I see is that it drying and a little on the expensive side but a great investment. I have recommended this shampoo to many and would continue to do so.
The Good
- Effectively removes dandruff
- Soothes itchy scalp
- Works well on oiled hair as well
- Free of silicones
- Smells like ginger candy
- People who like a lot of lather will love this shampoo
The Bad
- Can be drying and not for those who tend to skip conditioner
- On the expensive side

Do give it a try. But remember to never skip conditioner with this shampoo.
sure dear I’ll never forget
Ohh I have used this 3 years back. It does clean dandruff but continuous usage can result in drier scalp if you already suffer from dry scalp. I had oily scalp so oil and dandruff were kept away.
Yeah Ankita like I mentioned it is drying. But manages to keep dandruff at bay. But you need products to counteract the dryness.
This shampoo sounds really good. In this season i get little dandruff so will definitely try it.

I have used this a lot when I faced dandruff issues and still get it when I get dandruff, this works very well against dandruff and it’s true it leaves hair dry, so I condition my hair well and pre oil my hair before washing

Same here Preethy. I have always one in my stash. Even if I don’t have dandruff I sometimes use it when I oil my hair.
The price is just the turn off !

I have been trying this on and off as well just to get rid of that flakiness that develops sometimes. Its really nice though I wish it were less drying.
