I have been using Nivea products for a very long time. And I love their moisturizers a lot. They make the skin soft and supple. There are so many people I know who swear by Nivea and every time I use their products I understand why. One of their products I have been using for the last few months is Nivea In Shower Body Lotion.
The product claims to “An easy pleasant way of skin moisturisation.
- Use your normal soap / body wash and rinse off
- Apply this In-Shower Body Moisturiser on wet skin while still in the shower
- Leave it on for 2 minutes and then rinse off
- Dry yourself, and get dressed immediately. Leave no residues in towels.
The caring formula gets quickly absorbed on wet skin.
Result: A silky, soft skin feeling when stepping out of the shower. There is no need to apply an additional body lotion afterwards. Suitable for use after shaving or depilation.
Skin compatibility dermatologically approved. Free of artificial colours and silicons. Readily biodegradable.”
My Experience with Nivea In Shower Body Lotion
Nivea In Shower Body Lotion is a great product to use in the shower. Cleanse your skin as usual with a soap or body wash, and then slather on this product. Leave it for 2 minutes and wash off. The product glides very easily on wet skin; it can feel a little slippery buy you’ll get used to the feeling. It washes off in a jiffy. Be sure you also wash the bathroom well to ensure you don’t end up slipping and falling.
The tube packaging Nivea In Shower Body Lotion comes in is very easy to use. The body lotion has a refreshing smell too. There are different variants for normal and dry skin. Every time I use this product my skin feels soft and supple. I wouldn’t say this is a replacement to body lotions and you may need to top it up especially in winters. But in summers this should be sufficient unless you have dry skin. Nivea In Shower Body Lotion is free of parabens, but it does contain alcohol as one of the ingredients. This isn’t a must product to own in your collection but it does help in keeping your skin soft and supple.
The Good
- Makes skin soft and supple
- Easily available
- 2 minutes in the shower is all you need
- Has a refreshing floral fragrance
- Spreads very easily on wet skin and also washes off easily
- Doesn’t contain parabens
The Bad
- Will not be a replacement to moisturizers
- Not as effective in winters or on dry skin
- Contains alcohol
- Can feel a little slippery to use
- Little difficult to remove last bit of product from the pack
Overall verdict: 3.5 / 5
Price: Rs. 250/- for 250 ml

Day by day the body hydration routine is increasing. There are so many great products available that consumers might be getting confused what to buy and what not. this one also looks promising though you mentioned dry skin may need to top up. Great review!
Thanks Ankita. But these are sort of like additional fittings. When I was a kid I used to take an oil bath every week. It helped reduce excess body heat and also moisturised the skin well. Unfortunately these days I am rather pressed for time. I am not complaining about the product though, I totally loved using it.
Nivea has some good products… The good old cream is what I still prefer, intensely mositurizes as well as is budget friendly…will checkout this one as well….great review 🙂

great review. I dislike the fact that it needs to be washed off though 🙂

seems like a good option for oily skin beauties.

It will work well even on dry skin. But in winters they’ll need a little bit more and preferably a mild moisturizer to keep the skin supple.
Presence of alcohol is itself drying!

I wouldn’t say it is drying. It is moisturizing, but I prefer topping this with a body lotion so that my skin feels softer.
Nice review. I have been forever wanting to try this since the launch. I will one day 😀

It’s difficult only towards the last teeny weeny bit. Apart from that you wouldn’t have an issue.
yes it is a bit difficult to remove, but i use it in winters when i take shower in warm water and then its not a pain.

I wouldn’t say it is difficult to remove. It actually washes off easily. But it does leave a greasy film on the floor.
I was very intrigued by this product! I think it would be better for summer for me! Honest review dear! xx

Thanks Emmy. It definitely would be great for summers.
I’ve never tried any in-shower body lotions, because I’ve always thought they wouldn’t really replace a regular moisturizer!

They work similar to normal moisturisers. I have used this in summers and I’ve been able to skip the body lotion. But in winters my skin gets dry and I found that in-shower lotion alone isn’t sufficient.
not good for super dry skin I think. I have not tried this product yet. Thanks for sharing dear
Super dry skin always needs more and with this product it will be better if you top it up with a good moisturiser.
It looks good to use, better for summers when you don’t feel like slathering moisturizer, it seems perfect 🙂 It is unique and it is NIVEA and for that reason I would love to try it 🙂 Love the images Sangeeta.

Thanks Anubhuti. It is perfect for summers and is hassle free. It works decently even for winters, but it won’t provide enough moisturization.
Thanks for the genuine review Sangeeta..

It’s nice to give it a try once. And would be great in summers when you don’t need much moisturization and you skin feels soft the moment you step out of the shower.
I think it is a good option for oily skin ladies during winter….I need to try this. It will save a lot of time if it saves me from reapplying moisturizer. Good review 🙂
It works better in summers. And yeah it definitely saves a lot of time.
Great review you have here. I seen this on a commercial one day and was a bit skeptical of it considering it’s an “in-shower” moisturizer. But I may have to pick it up and try it out for myself sometime.
That’s Sherrell. Do try it out. It moisturizes the skin to a great extent.
I have heard a lot about these Nivea Shower in lotions and I’m intrigued. Nice post!

subha bose recently posted…Blog Sale 2016 – PART 2
It didn’t feel like a body wash. For starters you have to use this after cleansing yourself. It is more like the name states, an in-shower body conditioner.
Why do you say it feels like a body wash?
Thank you for such a wonderful article dear, and from my side I want to say that I am using shea moisture body lotion from long for my skin and its really effective. It will improve your skin for sure.
I love lotions with Shea butter but I often find myself reaching for product with cocoa butter purely because of the fragrance. This one from Nivea works for me as it cuts down my time in getting ready and it nourishes my skin well.
