Moisturizers they come in many shapes – body lotions, body crème, body butters and lets’ not forget body oils. I love using products that help keep my body soft; I need them desperately as my body tends to get dry easily. I haven’t used too many body oils apart from coconut oil and olive oil. Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula seemed like a perfect refreshing addition to my summer skin care. Read more to find out about it.
The product claims to “Experience Neutrogena Body Oil. Its light sesame formula glides on easily to moisturize dry skin. It’s so sheer it vanishes into shower-damp skin leaving it soft and silky, with a radiant, healthy glow. No moisturizer can touch this experience.
After shower or bath: While skin is still damp, smooth on a few drops to help seal in moisture. Let your body dry naturally, or simply pat dry with a towel.
In the bath: Add to water and soften your skin while you bathe.”

My Experience with Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula
I picked up Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula last year but I rarely used it as the winter made my skin extra dry. Now that summer is here in full swing I am enjoying using the numerous lightweight body moisturizers in my collection including Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula.
Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula comes in a transparent bottle packaging with a flip open cap. The packaging is very sturdy and secure, and since it is transparent you can easily see how much of the product is remaining in the bottle. I haven’t had any issues of leakage, but I am skeptical to carry it with me on any travel. The oil is very light and has a refreshing aromatic fragrance. I use this post shower when my body is moist and this body oil gets absorbed in a jiffy. Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula is not heavy duty and if you have dry skin you will feel that the moisturization is not enough. My skin in predominantly dry, while this body oil works well for summer, it was barely moisturizing for use in winter.
I love using oils whether it is on my body or my hair, but there is one thing I didn’t like about this oil – it contains parabens. This is a point I am finding very hard to overlook. The price is also rather high for oil, but the fragrance helps me easily overlook the high price tag. To conclude – Neutrogena Body Oil Light Sesame Formula is a good pick for summers and moisturizes skin well and refreshes your senses.

Thank you so much.
That looks like a nice product Sangeeta .I have extremely dry skin and I have to keep moisturizing my body in summers as well as winters but I have never tried anything of this sort. I have only used olive oil to moisturise my body. I wanted to try this but the paraben content is an issue with me. It is expensive too. Great review dear.

Thanks Yamini. If you have very dry skin I’d suggest skipping this. You could give TBS Body Butters a try, they are heavy duty and will moisturize even the driest skin.
I’m liking it after your review except parabens…this sounds great for normal skin like me 🙂

It’ll be perfect for normal to dry skin in summers.
That’s a shame it’s not very intense and isn’t strong enough for dry skin. I have a lot of dry skin.
Raindrops of Sapphire
I have dry skin, but it isn’t super dry so it works perfect for summer.
Sounds impressive! Perfect for summers <3

I love body oils and currently using Ferrell Olive oil. Liked the fact that it is light weight and summer friendly. Nicely reviewed Sangeeta 🙂

Thank you Anamika. This oil feels so perfect for summer.
Currently I am using Bio Oil, its quite light weight, but loaded with mineral oil. I did not spot mineral oil in this one. Sounds like a good one.
I tried Bio Oil for some of my marks, but I barely noticed any difference.
I am all about body oils. In fact, in winter, I use pure coconut oil rather than body lotions. The sesame oil sounds good. I would like to check it out.

You will love it. It is very lightweight and sinks into the skin minus any greasiness or stickiness.
I’ve tried using body oils before, but never stuck with them. I think I’m just lazy taking that one extra step in the shower haha.

Never used a body oil. 250 ml will last longer but I guess!! May skip if there are parabens!!

I was very skeptical why an oil needs parabens. But otherwise it feels amazing to use.
Exactly, why parabens? That too in oil 😀
Baffles me!
Sangeeta, I Love the fact that its a light weight oil, something which I was looking for. Great Post, I’m surely gonna buy it now… xoxo, Neha
Thanks Neha. You’ll love using this body oil.
Everything about this oil sounds good but uh! why do oils need to have parabens in them 🙁

I hardly use Body Oils because I’m lazy to massage but in summers, I would go for lotions.
Salomi recently posted…Dewy No-Makeup Makeup Look Tutorial
There is barely any massaging required Salomi. This gets absorbed into the skin super easily.
Even though lotions, milks and butters are more practical I do like a good body oil from time to time.

Same here. It’s nice to use something different.
I am too lazy to use body oils as massaging is needed to get fully absorbed so I usually skip them most of the time!!! This sounds nice, I haven’t tried any neutrogena products yet. Great review
Dona recently posted…Aroma Essentials D-Tan Mask Review
Thanks Dona. Surprisingly there is no massaging required. This gets absorbed into the skin super easily.
Great review Sangeeta! The product is nice but I found it little on pricier side as compared to its effectiveness 😐

I like using body oils in winters as my body is very dry and looks extremely arid in winters. But you have mentioned that this does not provide much hydration especially for dry skin, I guess I’ll have to ditch the thought of it. Thank you for the great review. 🙂

Quite a lot of their products contain parabens, what surprised me was its presence in a body oil.
I believe in body oils more than any skin care essentials <3 This one is not tried though. 😉

I have tried bio oil in past, but I’m too lazy to stick to the extra step in routine. I know I should… nice review dear…

Thanks Gressa. Don’t see this as an additional set in skincare, but more like a replacement to moisturizers.
Great review, Sangeeta
I’ve been hearing to so many good things about this product from Neutrogena. I’m very skeptical about using a body oil in this summer though, considering the weather in Chennai. Crossed 36C already 🙁
I hope I shall check this out in winters! Body oil is a sure shot way to get that baby soft skin. Ain’t it?
Lancy recently posted…Getting Personal : Blog, Business & Life Update!
The temperatures may have crossed 36 degrees, but it feels like 50. It’s hot and humid in the most uncomfortable way. I prefer using this in the night. If you have dry skin, this may not be very effective in winter.
My skin tends to get drier on the winters but not that much! I’ve only been experiencing winter dry skin since two years.
Feels like 50? 🙁 Horrible it must be! How are you coping up the weather?
Lancy recently posted…Getting Personal : Blog, Business & Life Update!
If you have just winter dry skin, this body oil will work well.
I’ve been checking the Yahoo weather app – due to the high UV index and heat wave the temperature feels really hot. Right now the app says the temperature is 34 but feels like 44. It’s really hard, trying to stay indoors, drinking lots of water and spending the rest of the time taking numerous baths.
Hmmm, parabens are a turn off.
subha bose recently posted…Problems Faced in Indian Arranged marriage Vs Love marriage
They definitely are!
Sounds neat, but yeah the parabens seem kinda pointless considering there are so many options out there without that! Have you tried Nuxe’s body oil? It’s made of mostly natural ingredients and smells heavenly!
I’m hearing about Nuxe for the first time. Will definitely try to get my hands on it.
this is great for summers
