When I first stumbled upon MUA the brand was very unfamiliar to me. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try the brand. I was getting a few things from a friend in UK and looking at the price I decided to give the brand a try. Hey, at £1.00 even if it is bad there isn’t much to complain. So I picked up a couple of shades and now I have a rather nice collection of MUA lipstick – one lipstick from this range is MUA Lipstick Shade 7.
My Experience with MUA Lipstick Shade 7
MUA lipstick in Shade 7 is a frosty pinkish peach. The lipstick comes in a simple no fuzz plastic packing. While the packing isn’t a looker, it is convenient to use. The top of the lipstick has a small removable compartment, which has a bit of the same shade. This also makes it easy to spot the lipstick. While the shade is very pretty, it did wash out on my NC 43.5 skin tone. This shade would absolutely look great on fairer skin tones.
MUA lipstick in Shade 7 is fairly pigmented buildable to medium coverage, however if you have heavily pigmented lips your lip colour might show through. The lipstick has a sort of bubblegum fragrance; while the fragrance isn’t mild it isn’t strong either. Moreover the smell doesn’t linger. The lipstick feels good to use. It feels light, my lips feel moisturized, it doesn’t settle into fine lines. However, I have noticed that with this shade it is slightly tricky getting an even finish. The lipstick lasts around 2-3 hours. But I am not going complain at this cost. MUA lipsticks are definitely cheaper if bought in the UK. In India these are priced around 500 bucks, a steep increase from £1.00. If you have friends or relatives coming back from the UK do add MUA lipsticks in your shopping list, I am sure you will love it.
The Good
- Super affordable if bought abroad
- Buildable to medium pigmentation
- Has a bubblegum sort of fragrance, not strong but could have been milder
- Moisturizing feeling
- Doesn’t settle into line
The Bad
- Expensive in India, but cheaper if bought abroad
- This shade doesn’t easily give an even finish
- Lasts 3 hours at max

Haha true Dipti. Do add it to your shopping list!
definitely! I’ll buy hell lotta MUA, Makeup Revolution & Essence products if I ever get to visit Europe! These brands are very inexpensive over there.

Awesome. I want to try Essence products too!
The shade is nice. I don’t know why some makeup things are costly in India inspite of huge beauty market here. Great review and swatches.

Thanks Sonali. This was a shade I was finding very hard to photograph. And like you mentioned the price difference is so high. Wish they were cheaper.
Shade is nice. And good point is it is buildable
It’s gorgeous. Wish it suited my dusky skin tone well.
This looks really pretty ♥ I can’t believe it was only £1

Such a bargain! Lovely shade.
My Recent Post: 2016 Maybelline Lip Gradation-Pink 2 Review
Totally. It’s a great shade for fair skin tones.
The shade is pretty, lipstick is nice but your lip swatch is “Vogue” level. 🙂
😀 Thanks Ankita, very kind of you.
Frosty lipstick is a no no for me as I have pigmented lips! Lovely shade but frost finish somehow doesn’t suit me.
Same here Mariyam. I avoid reaching for frosty finish. Just comes out weird on me.
Such products should only be bought from abroad if found otherwise no point investing in them.. 🙂 🙂 Sounds average..

I wouldn’t say it’s average. At less than INR 100 this is a nice lipstick. The only issue like you mentioned is that it is better if bought abroad.
i love the mus lipstick extra pot of color which is like a bonus. i dont like frosty finish. i have this in a pink shade and quite like it.

The lipsticks are a stunner at the price. It’s after trying this did I realize I’m not a fan of frosty finish.
Really pretty shade! Would be very good to wear for festivals <3

It’s a very nice shade. However, I feel it will work better with fairer skin tones.
Great shade. The only reason I haven’t tried this yet is coz of price, its original price haunts me whenever I try to make a purchase. Great review 🙂

The original price is at a fraction of what you get in India. Their lipsticks are really great.
I haven’t try much of MUA products, but they are a steal for the price (not the Indian price) 😀 .

You still have to give them a try at least once.
I havent tried any MUA products but I think I should certainly as £1 for a lipstick is certainly much more than a steal!

You should definitely give them a try Rajshree. These are an absolute steal for the price you pay.
Loved the color, but sad about the finish and its stay.
Wish it was as cheap as it is abroad.

These are worth every penny Anu. But expensive if you buy them in India.
I’ve never tried anything from MUA, but at such a low price their products sound very appealing!

These are super stunning for the price you pay. And the perfect budget lipstick.
Although I do not have issues of very pigmented lips, I avoid frosty lips. I don’t know why but I feel quite intimidated by it! This is a very pretty shade though. Also, India needs to STOP selling one dollar stuff for such a high price! 🙁

It’s price around 500 bucks in India. That is a 500% hike from the original cost 😐
Pretty LOTD <3 I love the price tag, its adorable! 😛
The pink-peach combo is eternally pretty but I would have loved it more if the frosty touch wasn't there.

I would have also loved it without the frosty feeling. It definitely would have looked prettier.
Haven’t tried MUA yet. Sometimes selecting a right lip color becomes too much of an exercise. So I normally keep 2-3 active shades with. This review was helpful, will pick up the brand soon 🙂
Glad the review was helpful Ekta. I guess all of us have those 2-3 shades we reach too frequently.
I have not tried this brand nor this kind of a shade but I am tempted to now 🙂

The shade is pretty. But I don’t like how it comes out on me. Frosty finishes don’t seem to work well with my skin tone.
No even finish is a let down for the product.
subha bose recently posted…Sugar Twist and Shout Fadeproof Kajal – Black Velvet Review
It is rather difficult to get the even finish. But the shade is lovely though.
It’s a pretty shade. I think if it didnt have any shimmer it might have looked better 🙂
It’s more of a frosty finish that shimmer. But yeah I would have loved it more without it.
I haven’t tried MUA yet, but I have tried a lot of products from their sister company known as MUR (MAkeup Revolution.) They had similar lipsticks for the same price but my experience was just okay, nothing mind-blowing but I really can’t complain for the price their lipsticks come in.

Mony
Thanks Mony. I love MUA lipsticks for the price you pay. But unfortunately these are priced rather high in India.
Mua lipstick shades are best in the low price range. I will definitely try this.
