Those of you who follow my blog regularly know that I have scanty hair and hair fall issues. To the rest of you, well you know it now. I’ve been taking treatment to ensure my hair doesn’t go from bad to worse, but sadly I do slack of every now and then. Sometimes it is out of pure laziness, sometimes because any treatment with hair takes time to show results and you get frustrated that you aren’t seeing quick results. I was recently sent a hair range kit from MamaEarth. This is their new launch called the MamaEarth Anti Hair Fall Kit and it is meant to be a six-week challenge. I decided to embark upon another hair growth challenge and this is my initial impression on each of the products in the range.

MamaEarth Anti Hair Fall Kit
MamaEarth Root Restore Hair Oil
I love oiling my hair and I love the way my scalp drinks up the oil. A little bit about my hair – I have oily hair but dry scalp. You may be wondering why I love oiling – it is a great way to pamper yourself, reduce body heat, provide nutrition to your hair roots and nourish your tresses all at the same time.
Key Ingredients: This oil comes with a concoction of amazing oils – Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Olive Oil, Orange Oil, Rosemary Oil, Palmarosa Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Jojoba Oil, Cinnamon Bark Oil, Bhringraj Oil and Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E). That is really one hell on a concoction. The oil is also free of phthalates, parabens, SLS and dyes.
Usage: Massage onto scalp and hair and leave it on for 30 minutes before washing.
Packaging: The oil comes in a cute white & pink bottle with a pump. Sadly I am not a big fan of this kind of packaging. The opaque bottle makes it hard to see how much product is left inside. Moreover, my biggest issue was the pump itself – you don’t get enough product with every pump and also the pump squirts out the oil which tends to get everywhere. This takes the messiness of applying oil to a whole new level.
Experience: Apart from the issues with the packaging I love the way this oil feels. The oil is lightweight and the best part is the fragrance. It smells amazing. I left the oil on my hair for over an hour and I could still smell the essential oils in it.

MamaEarth Happy Heads Shampoo
What do we all look for in a shampoo – gentle on your tresses but hard on dirt, free of harmful chemicals and nourishing for a healthy hair!? And this is what MamaEarth Happy heads Shampoo claims to do.
Key Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Lactic Acid, Olive Leaf Extract, Horse Chestnut Extract, Sodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Linoleic Acid, Biotin, Potassium Sorbate, Vitamin E & A, Amla Fruit Powder Extract, Bringhraj Powder Extract, Clary Sage Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil and Orange Essential Oil. The shampoo is free of phthalates, parabens, SLS and dyes.
Packaging: The shampoo also comes in a pump packaging similar to the oil.
Experience: The shampoo almost feels like an extension of the oil with its list of nourishing ingredients for healthy hair. I love that the shampoo includes both biotin and amla, which have time and again proven to be great for hair. The shampoo is transparent, runny and has a very mild essential oil fragrance. I felt that I had to use a little bit more shampoo to remove the oil than I normally would. The pump packaging definitely came in handy here. The shampoo lathered decently well however I wouldn’t say that lather has anything to do with the effectiveness of the shampoo. I found that it cleansed my hair well without making it feel dry. It also removed the oil fairly easily in 1 or max 2 washes.

MamaEarth No More Tangles Conditioner
The best way to end is a hair pampering routine is with a nourishing conditioner. And what could you be more nourishing than cocoa butter!?
Key Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Cetostearyl Alcohol, Steareth 21, Cetrimonium Chloride, Sodium PCA, Shea Butter, Shea Butter, Potassium Sorbate, D Panthenol, Amla Extract, Milk Protein, Fenugreek Extract, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil and Cedarwood Essential Oil. The conditioner is free of phthalates, parabens, SLS and dyes.
Packaging: The conditioner also comes in a pump packaging similar to the oil and shampoo.
Experience: The conditioner smells good. MamaEarth No More Tangles Conditioner had a rather thinner consistency than I am used to. When I tried to use a regular amount of conditioner I normally use, my hair drank it up in no time and I realized I needed to use quite a bit to cover my rather short hair. If you are someone with longer hair I doubt if this conditioner will last you long. I am really not sure if this conditioner will last the 6-week trial considering I wash my hair almost every alternate date. And with the changing climate, my hair tends to visit frizz town quite often – the conditioner manages to keep the frizz at check but doesn’t manage to smoothen it as much as I would love to.

MamaEarth Pro-Growth Hair Tonic
Sometimes our hair needs a little bit extra TLC to make it healthy and adding hair tonics are a great way to revitalize the roots and help decrease hair fall.
Key Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium PCA, Niacinamide, Zinc Pyrithilone, Caffeine, Potassium Sorbate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Korean Red Zing Extract, Basil Essential Oil and Geranium Essential Oil. The hair tonic is free of phthalates, parabens, SLS and dyes.
Packaging: The tonic comes in a white spray packaging.
Usage: Apply directly onto scalp enough to dampen it. Gently massage using your fingertips. Visible results may occur within 6 weeks of regular use.
Experience: This is the only product in the kit that I wouldn’t be using as I am already using a medicated hair tonic and I need to continue using it for the next 3 months at least. I will be using my husband as a guinea pig to use it, however, I did try this a few times just to get a feel of the product. Most hair sprays for hair growth tend to have a mild tingle sensation on application and I felt the same with this. My scalp soaked it up and I am glad that this didn’t make my scalp greasy which usually tends to happen with me. The same refreshing continues here as well. Hair tonics are essential for hair but they do take time to show results.

Overall verdict: 4 / 5
My initial impressions have been fairly good. I really love the essential oil fragrance of this range. My husband who usually isn’t a fan of any fragrance liked this. The hair oil is lightweight, nourishing and washes off fairly easily. The shampoo and conditioner cleanse and hydrate the hair but doesn’t provide enough hydration my hair needs. The hair tonic even though I can’t talk about its effectiveness yet I do love that is it lightweight and doesn’t make my scalp greasy. I will be posting an updated review at the end of the 6-week trial.
Price: The kit with all 4 products is priced at Rs. 1596 but is now available for Rs. 999 as an introductory offer. Buy this from Amazon

Seems very good products for hairfall without any harmful chemicals like parabens, sulphates and silicones. Love the fact that they all contain essential oils…

They are quite nice.
This kit works wonder for me. This is out for hairfall and dry damage hair
Definitely. It really helps with hair fall.
Anti hair fall kit, an entire product range makes great sense. An oil or conditioner alone cannot do wonders. I really believe that all of them used together on a regular basis would really yield great results.
It does.. and I love how well the entire set works well.
This is definitely trending and I love the way people are sharing their positive feedback about the brand.
Thorough details in your post make me all the more convinced to call for the hamper
