MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation | Review & Swatches

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

There are some things that are said to be an investment. When it comes to makeup I’d say foundations and concealers are definitely a great investment. Splurge and get something that works well on you and matches you skin tone. I had my doubts when I picked up MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation. But rest assured I am happy with my purchase and glad I splurged.

My Experience with MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

The best part about buying from MAC is that the MUAs aren’t pushy. They try to understand your needs and suggest what will work for you. I have MAC Studio Fix Foundation in NC 43.5. This is a shade that perfectly matches my skin tone. It has yellow undertones, which unlike pink under toned foundations doesn’t end up looking ashy on me.

With the wide range of colour it can sometimes be confusing to choose the colour despite the MUA recommending you 1 or 2 options. My suggestion is (1) Go with a friend who will help you out (2) Either take a small sample or walk around the mall with the foundation applied on you face for a bit. With this you will be able to figure out how the foundation has set into your face. Is it making your face look greasy or patchy? Is it oxidizing on your skin? And any other questions you have in mind.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

I have oily sensitive acne prone skin, which frankly does need a bit of coverage. I have in the past faced issues with the foundation oxidizing and looking weird after sometime. Thankfully, this foundation worked well for me. I was able to build up the coverage to cover some scars and I didn’t end up looking ashy either. While this foundation works well on oily skin I suggest setting it well with a powder to avoid any greasiness. However, if you have dry skin be sure to use a good moisturizer underneath. The foundation also didn’t clog my pores and create any breakouts, but be sure to use a good makeup remover at the end of the day. One issue with this foundation is that it doesn’t come with a pump. If you require a pump you can buy it additionally, but this does increase the cost further. Overall, MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is a great foundation and an amazing investment.

    Style.. A Pastiche!

    1. That’s one thing that’s a bummer though. But this is MACs way to ensure you end up reusing the pumps though. A small way to go eco-friendly.

    1. You can buy the pump separately but that will just increase your expense further. I am using it without the pump and it is quite okay that way.
Do let us know how the foundation works for you.

  3. MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is legendary in true sense….it is just amazing for oily skin. You are correct Sangeeta…although it is bit costly but this is an investment which gets great results and total satisfaction. I feel it is good for special occasion of course because of the price and sometime it looks a little bit heavy on skin because of the high coverage. Great review dear 🙂
