Sun here, sun there, sun everywhere. This is just my way of saying that summer is high and in full swing. And with summer comes in loads of sunscreens to use up. While I was digging through my sunscreen collection (Yes, I have collection of sunscreens. I keep buying them as I see them) I found a lost forgotten sunscreen, which I had used most of last year – L’Oreal UV Perfect Even Complexion Sunscreen with SPF 50.
The product claims to “Perfectly hydrates and protects your skin against UV rays, brown spots, skin darkening and premature ageing.
UV PERFECT contains an optimized UVA / UVB protection filtering system tailor made for Asian phototypes.
Enriched with a powerful Anti-Oxidant Complex and Activa-Cell to reinforce protection against free radicals and better shield cells, elastin and collagen fibers.”

My Experience with L’Oreal UV Perfect Even Complexion
L’Oreal UV Perfect Even Complexion sunscreen is a mildly tinted lotion with SPF 50. The colour is very light on my dusky skin tone, but it dissolves in easily without leaving any grey cast behind. This is supposed to be a sort of BB cream plus sunscreen but there is barely any coverage. I was hoping it would provide some coverage, but I am not disappointed that it didn’t. I picked up this sunscreen for the SPF factor. It has a sun protection factor of 50 and helps against UVA and UVB making it perfect even for the harsh summers.
L’Oreal UV Perfect Even Complexion tends to make my face oily and greasy but it hasn’t clogged my pores or broken my skin out in any way, and I am totally glad about this. The texture is also non-sticky. While L’Oreal UV Perfect Even Complexion doesn’t provide any coverage it does make my skin glow. Price wise this is expensive for the quantity provided and even though this is meant to be used only on the face don’t expect it to last long. I have almost used up this sunscreen and while it helped protect my skin well from the harsh sun, it made my oily skin oilier. Anyone who has oily skin will know how annoying it could be when you face starts feeling sticky and greasy. If you don’t have oily skin this sunscreen will be perfect for you in summers. If you have oily skin it is best to use this during dry months when you face doesn’t become icky easily or don’t forget to use an oil zapping primer and tons to powder to remove excess oil. I have loads more sunscreen reviews lined up, lots of products have surfaced from hiding 😀

Great review, I hardly use sunscreen, mostly I forget so I tend to skip them 😀
Sonali recently posted…Ethicare Remedies Acmed facewash Review
I tend to skip them too.. but lets try to protect it from the sun 😀
I have tried this sunscreen before, and I really like it! It’s true it makes skin oilier, so I always have to use a compact to set this, and yes, it doesn’t give coverage, it only slightly makes the skin even tone.

I would have loved it, it didn’t make my skin oily. Summer is getting worse day by day. I keep patting on compact to combat the extra greasiness.
Non sticky, non cloggy SPF that makes skin glow! I am sure getting this one soon! But may be in winters on a second thought because I do have oily-combination skin.

If you want to pat this in summer pat on that compact and lots of it.
I am currently using this sunscreen and for my normal skin in Finnish spring which is a bit cold, this works very well, but I would avoid using this in Indian summers as I am sure it will make my face oily too

My face gets oily easily and g=this definitely isn’t helping me out. Apart from the oiliness factor this is a great sunscreen.
It looked like it had a decent coverage in the swatch pic but since it makes oily skin oilier it’s not a good pick for my skin!
If you have oily skin it is best to avoid this in peak summers.
I have dry skin so this is something I can look into. Thanks for the review!

If you have dry skin then this will be perfect and you will love the glow it adds to your face.
I don’t think that I shall use the product. As my skin is oily. I use lotus mattifying sunscreen spf 40. It’s a very good sunscreen for the oily skin. It’s also a tinted one. However thanks for such an honest review. Waiting for another review for a sunscreen for oily skin.
Thank you Shreemayee. I am hearing a lot of good things on the Lotus Sunscreen and I am planning on picking it up next.
Sangeeta I was in search of a good sunscreen and was really eyeing this one. Looks like a nice product. My favourite these days is the Lotus matte gel foundation.

I’ve been hearing about this. I’m going to give the Lotus sunscreen a try next.
Great review..Since it makes skin oilier, I shall stick to my lotus gel sunscreen.!

How’s the Lotus sunscreen? Does it really leave a matte effect on the skin?
Yes totally.. Matte & smooth. You should give that a try, the Ultra matte gel with SPF 50.
Thanks Priyanka will definitely give it a try.
I have dry-combination skin so I guess this might work out for me. Want to give a try ! Thanks for the review !

That is definitely the best thing to do. That way you don’t have to worry about oiliness and you’ll have an amazing glow on your face.
I do not use Sunscreen which I know is a very lousy thing to do on my part but mainly sunscreens leave my face feeling sticky, even though I have dry skin and I just can’t stand the feeling in the already burning sun. Sounds like a very good product, thanks for sharing. 🙂

Thank you. I am constantly looking for products that protect the skin without making it sticky. Do keep checking my page for updates.
If it makes my skin more oily hell no.. I don’t buy anything much from L’Oreal but this one is definitely worth a skip

That is downside with most sunscreens and oily skin.
This sounds like a great product, Sangeeta! But again, oiliness seems to be the only issue. Sunscreens either make my skin look grey or give me an oily skin 🙁 I’m yet to find my perfect sunscreen!
However, I’m fortunate to stay at home most of the time! I rarely get to step out. Even if I do, I make sure I’m not going out anytime before it’s 4 PM. Literally, the Chennai summer is the only thing in the world I hate the most right now!

That’s nice Lancy. But I keep moving around, I find it hard to stay at home. I like packing in powder to help with the oiliness and I always keep oiling blotting sheets handy.
I like using a BB or CC cream with a high SPF built in. By not adding a separate sunscreen, I’m not lathering an extra layer of gunk on my skin 😉

I use a powder foundation on top so that helps with the coverage, but I really wish the L’Oreal one covered some imperfections.
The swatch looks like a tinted moisturizer. Sad that it makes the skin more oily. Might not suit me that too in summers. Good review 🙂

True Safi. I’m going to wait for the days to get a little cooler before I finish this up.
I was thrilled to see it was tinted but since it offers no coverage and can make skin oily I will skip it

This is more of a high coverage sunscreen, however I do wish it provided better coverage.
Too bad that it makes oily skin even oilier. It sounds great otherwise.

I really wish they bring out tinted gel-cream sunscreen in India. This one wont work for summers. 🙁

That’s the only thing I’m not so keen on. But if you have dry or normal skin this sunscreen will work perfectly.
From the swatch I though it was tinted:/ great review 🙂
The tint is quite Najah and once blended you won’t find much coverage.
I have dry skin so this will work just fine for me. Nice review.

I’m sure this won’t suit Indian summers
If you have normal to dry skin this would work quite well, but it your skin like mine tends to get oily you will see your skin turn greasy and quickly too.
