Does anybody like acne!? Seems very redundant to ask. They are what they are – a nuisance. Anyone who has had or still has acne will say that they tried lots of products and DIYs to help them with the problem. Some help, some don’t. Some live up to the expectation, some fail. But very few really live up to their claims and one such product that faired well is La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+.
The product claims to “La Roche-Posay introduces new Effaclar DUO[+] anti-blemish cream, specifically formulated to target the key signs of oily, blemish-prone skin. Clinically proven to correct the appearance of blemishes. Unclogs pores and refine the look of skin texture. This daily skincare solution is suitable even for sensitive skin.”

My Experience with La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+
I love summer; it brings with it clear blue skies, numerous trips to the beach, yummy mangoes and lots more. But it also brings with it excessive oily skin, clogged pores and unwanted breakouts. Summer has been rather cruel this year, at least so far and those living in coastal cities of India can understand that it just doesn’t seem to get better. My skin has been getting extra greasy and added to the fact that my diet is a little erratic the past few months I have been experiencing quite a few number of breakouts which are taking a lot of time to go away and a lot are even leaving behind marks. I’ve wanted to try La Roche-Posay products for a while now, but the price tag is way too high and I decided to not to spend too much money on it. But off late I’ve read a lot of bloggers raving about a wonder product from La Roche-Posay – The Effaclar Duo+. Seeing that I didn’t want my skin to undergo anymore damage I decided to shell out the extra money and give it a try.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ comes in a simple white tube packaging with a small nozzle. The tiny nozzle helps control the amount of product you use every time – believe me, you need very little. On application it leaves the skin with a mild velvety finish and is a great product for unclogging pores. I have added this to both my day care and night care routine, and keep this as the first product that goes on my skin. Just after using this for one week I started noticing a difference in my skin. My skin can be a little irritated by certain skincare products and guess what – no issues and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ passes the sensitive skin test. It really helped calm my active acne and I noticed that fewer pimples were leaving behind scars. What I truly loved about this cream is its oil control power. Yes, it truly is a power. I didn’t feel the need to wash my face as frequently when I used La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ and the sheen I normally have after just a few minutes of humidity and sun-exposure reduced drastically. There is no doubt that I have fallen in love with this product and would love to check out the entire Effaclar range. I can vouch and say that this is one of the best acne solution products available in the market and great for those with oily acne-prone skin. If I haven’t said it enough I highly recommend La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+.
The Good
- A little goes a long way
- Can be applied underneath makeup
- Perfect for both day and night use
- Keeps oil under control
- Calms active acne and helps clear skin
- Helps lighten acne scars
- Gentle enough to be used on sensitive skin
- Fragrance free
The Bad
- Expensive
- Dry skinned people may not like the oil zapping power
Overall verdict: 4.5 / 5
Price: Rs.1350/- for 40ml

I was going to say that cost is okay if the product works but when I scrolled from cons to the price section it just broke my heart. Even Shwetali had a similar experience like yours. Great detailed review 🙂

Thankfully I have a normal skin with an oily T-zone. But this is a great product for someone with oily skin. As someone mentioned above, if it works, it is worth the price 🙂
