Garnier Fructis Oil In Cream

I like oiling my hair. In fact I could just laze around the house and give my hair a nice oil treatment. I never thought of getting a replacement product to oil. But when I saw Garnier Fructis Oil In Cream I decided to give it a shot, see if it is any better than my trusted hair oils.

The product claims to “Get the nourishment of hair oils in a non-sticky cream format

  • Nourishes and hair feels stronger
  • Zero stickiness and mess
  • Pleasant long lasting fragrance

What is Garnier Oil in Cream?

Hair oils may be sticky and greasy. Now Garnier brings to you the formula with power of 3 oils in a non-sticky, light cream format – Garnier Oil-in-Cream.

The cream texture melts away without leaving sticky residue and does not weigh your hair down, Hair looks bouncy and full.

How do I use it? Use it just like your hair oil:

Before Wash: Massage into hair and scalp. Oil in cream intensely nourishes your hair and transforms it.

After Wash: Wash your hair with Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Shampoo and Conditioner. Use on hair lengths for easy manageability and styling.

Overnight: Massage into hair and scalp and leave overnight. Wash away with Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Shampoo and Conditioner for intense nourishment.”

My Experience with Garnier Fructis Oil In Cream

Garnier Fructis Oil in Cream comes in a brightly coloured easy to use squeeze tube packaging. The product itself is a pale white with a strong fragrance. To be honest I am not a big fan of strong fragrances and this has artificial notes to it, and it hit all the wrong areas on my nose. But if you are someone who doesn’t mind strong fragrances this shouldn’t be an issue at all. I have used this pre hair wash, as an over night treatment, after wash to tame my hair, and as a thick hair mask before wash. My favourite method is to use at as a hair mask. It nourishes my hair well and makes it super manageable.

The formula of Garnier Fructis Oil in Cream is very light and non-greasy. It spreads on the hair easily and washes off without too much effort. It didn’t cause any hair fall either. While I am okay using this on my hair now and then I am not too comfortable using this on my scalp mainly because it is loaded with chemicals. I am rather partial to my array of hair oils. However, this works nicely as a pre-wash hair mask; a mini hair spa sort of right at the convenience of your home. Have you tried any alternatives to oil, do you prefer using them to oil? 1. I can’t recall the last time I used a Garnier Shampoo, so it’s a little hard for me to say on the drying part. But this oil-in-cream is definitely super moisturising and makes the hair soft.

  1. I am not big fan of strong fragrances too 🙁 as i have sensitive nose. but this product sounds good. but i would prefer coconut oil rather than this one. thanks for sharing dear

    1. Thanks Shwetali. If you have a sensitive skin I would say give this a pass. The fragrance is strong and my nose didn’t like it at all.

  2. Great review. I loved using it and have finished 2 tubes of this, then I switched to paraben free hair care products, so stopped using this, otherwise it’s really good. This worked same as the oil would work on my hair, just to avoid chemicals I would prefer the oiling method 🙂

    1. While I loved using this on my hair, I prefer the natural goodness of oils. Also, I found the smell a little too strong.

  3. Hi Sangeeta I use similar oil replacement product (Loreal) and I love it. But, i never apply it on my scalp. My scalp gets the goodness of real extra virgin coconut oil. Yup im a coconutty girl 🙂

    1. Thanks Anubhuti. I use this an hour before wash and it works wonders. Really works wonders in softening the hair.

  4. Personally, I have never come upon such products that are better than pure hair oils. I am very lazy at oiling my hair, so to cover up for my beauty sins, I apply oil serums and conditioners to make my hair nice and soft but there is nothing as better as a good pampering of hair with oils. Nice post!

  5. I have never tried anything like this yet. Strong fragrances never been a big deal for me but yeah am afraid of the chemicals present in it! Otherwise it seems a great product 🙂 Would like to give it a try .. Good review 🙂

    1. You can try it a pre hair wash mask. Apply it on your hair ends. You’ll see how soft and manageable your hair looks.

    1. Thanks Rashmi. I’m not a big fan of the smell either. It makes the hair soft, but I will reach for my hair oils more than this.

    1. Which is the other brand you use Lana? I prefer using oils on my hair, but it’s nice to have a change now and then.

    1. Thanks Natasha. While I loved the results, I wasn’t too fond of the smell. Strong fragrances tend to irritate my nose.

    1. Thanks Akansha. It is quite heavily loaded with chemicals. Also as a pre wash you leave it on your hair for a very short period.
