Hibiscus is a wonder plant that works amazingly in making hair super soft and manageable. It is one of the major ingredients in Shikakai paste. I used to grind Hibiscus leaves and flowers, and apply it on my hair. Every single time I used this paste I was left with super soft bouncy hair. The process is a bit tedious and the paste gooey and sticky. When I came across Banjaras Hibiscus Wet & Wash at a local store I was super excited to try it out and hoped I would see similar results.
The product claims to “Banjaras Hibiscus paste is used to prevent hair fall, thickening of hair, and baldness treatment. Hibiscus paste is most effective and has been found in clinical trials that it not only stimulates glands bit also increases the growth of hair. Regular use of hibiscus paste keeps hair soft and manageable along with hair growth. It has property of imparting dark colour to hair. It is also useful in recurrent dandruff and scalp irritation. Hibiscus paste increases blood circulation, promotes hair growth and softens and conditions hair.
Directions for use: Apply the paste in suitable consistency on the scalp. Allow the paste to remain on scalp for one hour. Rinse thoroughly with water.”
My Experience with Banjaras Hibiscus Wet & Wash
Banjaras Hibiscus Wet & Wash is a maroonish brown thick paste that comes in a squeeze packaging. The paste has the mild refreshing fragrance of hibiscus. Even if you aren’t a fan of the fragrance fret not as it is mild and doesn’t linger. The paste is quite thick and I prefer mixing this with either water or curd before applying it on my hair. I apply the paste liberally on both my hair and scalp and leave it for about an hour. The paste needs to be washes thoroughly with water and can take a little long to be removed. The final result is quite impressive though nowhere close to the effect I get when using ground up hibiscus leaves. My hair feels soft and manageable.
The product claims to have effect on hair growth and itchy scalp, but it rather failed here. I didn’t see any noticeable hair growth or reduction in hair fall after using Banjaras Hibiscus Wet & Wash; neither did it help with the mild dandruff itchiness. The product is affordably priced but availability is an issue. Despite being on the lazy side I still prefer using fresh ground hibiscus leaves, as the effect is way better and is all natural.
